So how do you
like your chilli? Cool Man? Bloody Hot? Somewhere in between?
That’s The Chilli Man’s Heatometer for you.
(You’ll find it on all Chilli Man labels. You can’t
miss it!)
The Chilli Man Heatometer is a scale that represents the
amount of chilli and heat in each product. It starts at
1/10 and works its way up to 10/10 (ouch). It’s
a lot like the Richter scale that’s used to measure
earthquakes: if one equals 100, two equals 200, and if
two equals 200 then three equals 400—it’s
always doubling as it goes up in chilli and heat.
You wouldn’t know it, but it’s not all about
the chilli. The fresh fruit and veggies in The Chilli
Man products contain natural sugars that can affect the
heat—some fruit enhance the heat and some fruit
reduce it. Talk about clever!
No more boring old hot-medium-mild. After all, the difference
between mild and medium could be as much as 1500%. Yowwwwwwzzzzza!
The Chilli Man Heatometer was made a registered trademark
back in 1999. Since then, the world’s big chilli
guys have adapted the idea but most people think ours
is still the easiest to read (and the most truthful: ‘Bloody
Hot’ really is bloody hot!)
The Chilli Man will be coming out with concoctions that
go right off the Richter scale soon… stay tuned.
